The purpose of the sticky keys feature in X (the X Window System) is to assist users who have difficulty holding down multiple keys at once. With sticky keys enabled, a user can press and release each modifier key (e.g., Shift, Control, Alt) individually, instead of having to hold down all the keys at once. This makes it easier for users with physical impairments or disabilities to perform keyboard shortcuts that require multiple keys to be pressed simultaneously.
