D. When configured correctly, ~/.forward can be used to forward each incoming mail to more than one other recipient.
The ~/.forward file is a special file in a user's home directory that can be used to configure mail forwarding for that user. When a mail message is delivered to a user's mailbox, the Mail Transfer Agent (MTA) checks for the existence of a ~/.forward file. If the file exists, the MTA reads the contents of the file and forwards the mail message to the email addresses specified in the file.
Each line in the ~/.forward file represents a single email address, and a user may specify one or more email addresses to forward their mail to. When forwarding mail to multiple recipients, each recipient email address should be on a separate line in the file.
