Selected Answer: C
C. Port security is configured on the switch. Explanation: Port Security: Port security is a feature that allows a network administrator to restrict the number of MAC addresses allowed on a switch port. When port security is configured, the switch will learn the MAC address of the first device connected to the port and allow only that specific MAC address. Subsequent devices attempting to connect to the same port may be blocked

C. Port security is configured on the switch. The most likely issue related to this scenario is that port security is configured on the switch. Port security is a Layer 2 security feature that restricts access to a switch port based on the MAC address of the device that is connected to it. When a port reaches its maximum number of allowed MAC addresses, it will prevent any further connections to that port. If the department is sharing a switchport during meetings for presentations, then it is possible that the maximum number of allowed MAC addresses has already been reached by the first user, and therefore no other users can connect.

C. Port security is configured on the switch. The issue described in the scenario suggests that the switchport is being shut down after the first user connects. This is a common behavior when port security is enabled on a switchport, which limits the number of MAC addresses that can connect to the port. Once the limit is reached, the switchport is shut down to prevent unauthorized devices from connecting.

That configuration would be changed after the first time that issue arose, right? Not much of a real-world example, I guess...

Yeah I agree. It does test your technical knowledge and I suppose if I was more up to scratch on my port security I would've known the answer
