A is correct. Volume density doesn't not describe data density. In CHFI V10 book we find: Track density, Areal density and Bit density. Bit density is the number of bits per unit length also called "linear density"

In v10 I can't find anything about Linear or recording density. The options are Volume, Track and Bit Density.

You right, linear density is not mentionned in the V10 book, however it is like a length density which is bit density
