Areal density is a measurement of the amount of data that can be stored on a given unit of physical space on storage media. It is most frequently measured in gigabits per square inch and used to describe hard disk drive capacity . Ref.https://www.techtarget.com/searchstorage/definition/areal-density#:~:text=Areal%20density%20is%20a%20measurement,describe%20hard%20disk%20drive%20capacity.
Definition of "Areal" density from EC-Council: defined as the number of bits per square inch on a platter. Thats "Areal" density and not "Area" density. The misspelling is unhelpful
CHFIv9, module 3 pg 236: "Calculation of data density of disk drives is done in the following terms:
...
Area density: Area density is the platters' storage capacity in bits per square inch.
...
So, answer must be C
the official source material states that "Area density: Area density is the platters’ storage capacity in bits per square inch."
which means that it is the amount of data stored measured in bits in every square inch in the palate. thus I believe it should be C
Answer shd be C. the amount of data per square inch
