Interhost communication refers to end-to-end communication between two hosts (devices). In the OSI model, the layer responsible for this reliable communication between hosts is the Transport Layer.
This layer:
Ensures reliable delivery of data between hosts (e.g. using TCP).
Manages end-to-end connections.
Performs flow control and error control.
Session layer: Manages communication sessions, but is not responsible for interhost communication itself.
