Types of Cryptography - Asymmetric Encryption
Asymmetric encryption (public-key) uses different encryption keys, which are called public and private keys for encryption and decryption, respectively. The public key is publicly available, whereas the sender keeps the private key secret. (P.3019/3003)
The question is ambiguous as is not stating what king of encryption. Is it Symmetric or asymmetric encryption. In Symmetric encryption a single shared key will be used however in Asymmetric encryption both public and private keys are used. Public key for encryption and Private key for decryption. Considering all the possible answers the correct answer is C.
The whole mention of public and private keys infers asymmetric. If it was symmetric, then it would be referred to as a "shared" or "secret" key which is not one of the options.
