TCP port 53 is required for DNS server to server communication such as in zone transfers from secondaries and permitted ISP servers and should generally be allowed. Allowing UDP port 53 traffic from external entities to DNS server is however dangerous and, in this particular case, should be disallowed.

The most appropriate rule to configure is to block TCP port 53 which is used for zone transfer as shown in the log output.

So you would want to allow for UDP 53 traffic inbound from external? To allow for DNS Poisoning..?
