Which operation can be performed from the FAST VP settings section in the Unisphere Settings window?

  • A. Enable scheduled data relocation at the pool level
  • B. Exclude pool from the data relocation schedule
  • C. Enable scheduled data relocation at the system level
  • D. View the data relocation progress between tiers
Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: A 🗳️
FAST VP accelerates performance of a specific storage pool by automatically moving data within that pool to the appropriate drive technology, based on data access patterns. FAST VP is only applicable to hybrid pools.
FAST VP is most effective if data relocations occur during or immediately after normal daily processing. EMC recommends scheduling FAST VP relocations to occur before backups or nightly batch processing.

Answer: C enable or disable scheduled data relocations at the system level About this task When you disable scheduled data relocations at the system level, no pools in the system will participate in scheduled data relocations. If you disable scheduled data relocations at the system level when a data relocation is taking place, the system will complete the data relocation. When you enable scheduled data relocations at the system level, pools that have scheduled data relocations enabled at the pool level will participate in scheduled data relocations.

Answer is C, you can check the box "Schedule data relocations" on Storage Configuration / FAST VP from Unisphere Settings. To view data relocation between tiers, you have to go to the Pool specific settings.

FAST VP is enabled by default. Admin will need to disable pools which does not require VP. You can disable or re-enable sched. data relocation for the system.

This is incorrect. Source: Looking at a hybrid Unity right now. It's either C or D, but since I can look at the schedule and amount of data to be tiered, I guess D.
