I think A and B From https://docs.fortinet.com/document/fortigate/6.2.3/cookbook/788897/configuring-the-root-fortigate-and-downstream-fortigates In support of A: "Under Network, turn on Device Detection." In support of B: "Enable FortiGate Telemetry."

if look into 6.2.3 links mentioned above, it seems AB, where as 6.0.0 has also mentioned about ip/network,,,,,,,, so I would say AB

the answer is b and c https://docs.fortinet.com/document/fortigate/6.0.0/cookbook/724439/fortinet-security-fabric-installation you dont need to enable device detection to configure the security fabric for fortigates, like EvanABS said, that would be for field equipment

B and C (In root FG Telemetry and IP) Device detection must be enable during downstream fortigate configuration. Fortigate Security Study Guide page 68/69

This is wrong sir. please recheck. I have read page 68 and 69 , nowhere is shows, you need to have IP / subnet mask configured.
