[All CT-TAE Questions]

You are preparing the Test Automation Architecture (TAA) for a project that is the first of several releases of functionality for an e-commerce system. The first release provides the basic functionality of the system (queries, product selection, purchasing, shipping). The second release will feature a new, sophisticated search capability. The third release will enable capturing information regarding a user's movement within the web site, including workflow and think-time per page. For the first release you will be automating only the build acceptance test which will be run to ensure that each build provides basic working functionality. The functionality to be tested is based on the use cases that have been created for this release.

Which of the following test generation and test definition decisions should you make given this information?

  • A. Use decision-based test generation and behavior-based test definition.
  • B. Use combinatorial test generation and data-driven test definition.
  • C. Use scenario-based test generation and process-driven test definition.
  • D. Use manual test generation (for now) and state-based test definition.

Selected Answer: A
Answer should be A as the first release is high level tests so keyword driven testing should be used, which would indicate decision based generation and behavior based definition. As more releases come in, you just tweak the keyword driven library. The basic functionality is not a process driven workflow (i.e. UAT) so answer C should not be correct
