1) Use the copy option. 2) Replace the hardcoded variable (in RSAT, a copied variable provides a string which when inserted into following test cases - will automatically enter the same variable as the one copied.) Derived test cases are wrong. Derived test cases are for creating variations of the same test cases, but with different variables - not for reusing variables across different test cases with different processes.

1. Use the copy option: "To save the value of a variable while recording the test in Task Recorder, right-click the field and select Task recorder > Copy, as shown in the following image. Copying saves the variable in the recording file.
