Question #: 4
Topic #: 4
[All AZ-300 Questions]

You have two Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) tenants named contoso.com and fabrikam.com.
You have a Microsoft account that you use to sign in to both tenants.
You need to configure the default sign-in tenant for the Azure portal.
What should you do?

  • A. From the Azure portal, configure the portal settings
  • B. From the Azure portal, change the directory
  • C. From Azure Cloud Shell, run Set-AzureRmContext
  • D. From Azure Cloud Shell, run Set-AzureRmSubscription
Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: B 🗳️
Change the subscription directory in the Azure portal.
The classic portal feature Edit Directory, that allows you to associate an existing subscription to your Azure Active Directory (AAD), is now available in Azure portal. It used to be available only to Service Admins with Microsoft accounts, but now it's available to users with AAD accounts as well.
To get started:
1. Go to Subscriptions.
2. Select a subscription.
3. Select Change directory.
Incorrect Answers:
C: The Set-AzureRmContext cmdlet sets authentication information for cmdlets that you run in the current session. The context includes tenant, subscription, and environment information.

Correct answer is A , the question is talking about Azure Portal not Azure PS.

Answer B is correct. Azure Portal Settings will not give an option to change directory (even though it has a link to change directory). When you click on Directory+Subscription, you can configure the default directory. I use this option most of the times in the lab.

Technically its A&B since you can get to B by going thru A. But if you are talking about direct, you click on the directories + subscription icon at the top next to cloud shell icon. then click the drop down to switch your default directory. SO it could be B, A or neither the way the answers are worded.

The answer is B. In Portal settings you have the options to theme and another that says "Looking to switch directories or filter subscriptions? Click here" and then you are redirect to "change the directory flap" and here you have the option "Switch directory -> Set your default directory" that is the requirement in this question.

The question is vague, however C is certainly not the answer as Set-AzureRmContext is for cmdlets session and not default sign-in tenant. B is the right answer as I have followed their steps and it is correct, but the description of the answer here is really vague.

I tested in my multi-tenant portal and found that "B" is correct. Go to portal click on "Switch Directory" and here you will get list of all directories, just click on "star" sign on directory name whom you want to set as default.
