You have an Azure subscription that uses Microsoft Defender for Cloud. The subscription contains the Azure Policy definitions shown in the following table.
Which definitions can be assigned as a security policy in Defender for Cloud?
When I go to the portal, I can only see the option to add initiative policy
Even if we add one policy to the initiative policy, still we can ONLY add initiative policy to subscriptions
Microsoft Defender for Cloud applies security initiatives to your subscriptions. These initiatives contain one or more security policies.

Initiatives are typically used to manage and enforce multiple policies across multiple resources, subscriptions, or management groups. So it makes sense you go with initiatives
Ans: B. Initiative1 & Initiative2 only
I have created the both Policy & Initiative from azure policy section. I am able to add only Initiative from Defender section. The Policy which I created, not even listed in the Defender "Azure Custom Initiatives".
We can create a new custom initiative with the policies and then assign this new initiative as well!
