Answer should be N - VM1 is gen 2, image basics is gen v1 N - VM2 has 2 vCPU, image publishing options recommend 4-16vCPU Y - VM3 has location West US, image definition is East US, but will/can replicate to West US

in my opinion this question is very tricky. I made experiment in my Azure Subscription and discovered, that not only VM image definition has property 'Region' but also VM Image Versions has such property and when you are creating VM Image Version located in for instance in East US you can use disks only from VM's located in East US. BUT when you are creating VM Image Version you do not need use same Region as VM Image Definition. I created such definition in region North Europe and in it VM Image Version in region East US. In question there is not information about region of VM Image Version

Evaluating Each VM: VM1: 8 vCPUs, Generation 2 vCPUs (8) are within the recommended range (4-16). Generation (2) does not match the required VM generation (V1). Conclusion: No, VM1 does not match the required VM generation. VM2: 2 vCPUs, Generation 1 vCPUs (2) are below the recommended range (4-16). Generation (1) matches the required VM generation (V1). Conclusion: No, VM2 does not meet the recommended vCPUs. VM3: 12 vCPUs, Generation 1 vCPUs (12) are within the recommended range (4-16). Generation (1) matches the required VM generation (V1). Conclusion: Yes, VM3 meets both the recommended vCPUs and the required VM generation.

This is a tricky one. N, N, N could be the correct answers based on: - Replication: Not mentioned → Assume disabled. - Generation mismatch: Azure blocks Gen 2 → Gen 1 conversions by default. - vCPUs: "Recommended" suggests flexibility, but exams often treat it as a hard rule.

Should the answer not be N,N,N ? The OS state is specialized, but you need a Generalized OS state for the image I think.

YNN seems correct. VM1 can be the source as is in the same region with computegallery1 VM2 can't be the source as it has not sufficient vCPU VM3 is in as exists in a different region

NYN... Image Definition has a Region... Only VMs on the same region will be reachable unless there's replication and nothing on the question speaks about it.

Tried it myself. Answer is NYY The only reason why VM1 is not possible is because the Generation is a Gen 2 and the Image Definition is Gen 1

NYN VM1 Cannot be the source as it is Gen2 and the Definition is Gen1 Also the Definition is in East US and VM1 is in West Europe VM2 CAN be the source as it exists in the Same region East US and is the same Generation Gen1 VM3 Cannot be the Source as it exists in the wrong region West US - Definition is in East US

The answer depends on the region of the VM image version, which must match the region of the source VM. However, the VM image version can be replicated the different regions.
