Why wouldn't this work? https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/79490-restore-previous-versions-files-folders-drives-windows-10-a.html seems to suggest that Windows Backup also can be used for previous versions.

YES. [Previous versions come from File History or from 'restore points'] says Previous Version tab. During creating backup it is possible to add extra folder.

from everyone's responses I'm assuming the answer was wrong, It's been changed to A. That confirms this test has some mistakes...

Found this, but it states that it applies to Windows 7: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17119/windows-7-recover-lost-deleted-files Not sure if it has been revised. I also tried it on my PC, but I tried it with a USB. I don't have my extra external HD with me. -_- A previous version is showing up, but when I click on restore, I get your normal success window, but nothing actually happens. I believe this is because Microsoft recommends using an external drive and not a USB drive.

A. I dont see why not. From an MD-101 book: "In addition to restoring files and folders, you can also use this tool to create backups of files contained in folders, libraries, and whole disk volumes."

The question is "You need to ensure that you can recover the files in Folder1 by using the Previous Versions tab." The key, I believe, is the Previous Versions suggestion, which is available from any documents in File History, Back up and Restore or System Restore systems. So the answer would be Yes. They want to know that you know how you can use Previous Versions.

This question is very poorly worded. They only show up each time you run a backup and restore. So answer can be yes/no. If you have File History turned off but run a backup in that folder, then it will save previous versions ONLY for that backup. So if you put new files in there or modify existing files, it won't have previous version for those until another full backup is run. I would say answer is "No"
