You are developing a back-end Azure App Service that scales based on the number of messages contained in a Service Bus queue.
A rule already exists to scale up the App Service when the average queue length of unprocessed and valid queue messages is greater than 1000.
You need to add a new rule that will continuously scale down the App Service as long as the scale up condition is not met.
How should you configure the Scale rule? To answer, select the appropriate options in the answer area.

The scale rule looks different now and has an explicit checkbox to divide the counts by the nuber of instances. I assume that this also is the case for the old situation, so the threshold is 1000 *per instance* Even though you shouldn't configure it like this in real life (2100 messages in total would lead to switching between 2 and 3 instances every five minutes) I believe the requested answers are: METRIC SOURCE - storage queue -[service bus queue] - current resource - storage queue (classic) CRITERIA - message count -[active message count] TIME GRAIN STATISTICS - total - maximum -[average] - count OPERATOR - greater than - greater than or equal to - less than -[less than or equal to] ACTIOIN - increase count by - increase count to -[decrease count by] - decrease count to

in the question they say is greater than 1000, so why we don't choose less than?

because greater than 1000 does not include equal to 1000, so in order to match the reverse configuration you must choose less than or equal to (1000)

I'm wondering about ActiveMessage Count. The scenario says "unprocessed and valid queue messages". Does Unprocessed also fall under ActiveMessages? Maybe I'm overthinking it. I'll go with ActiveMessage Count :)

Average is correct. Although many sites are suggesting count, the question asks the following: "when the average queue length (of unprocessed and valid queue messages) is greater than 1000"

This rule is for scaling up. I believe it doesn't have anything to do with scaling down.
