The "best tool" is ODT. On the link bellow under the section: "Best practices from the field: Choose how to install Microsoft 365 Apps" there is a picture showing 3 "Install options": On-premises, Hybrid and Cloud. Under the picture it says: "Note that the Office Deployment Tool (ODT) is used to install Microsoft 365 Apps in all these options". https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/deployoffice/fieldnotes/install-options

The answer should be E. It states the org is already using co-management. That means they are using the Current Branch of Configuration Manager already. Per Microsoft, they recommend that O365 ProPlus be deployed via System Center Configuration Manager Current Branch: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/DeployOffice/plan-office-365-proplus

It does seem to be Microsoft recommended "Best practice" "Best practice: If you use Configuration Manager already, make sure you are on the current branch and use it to deploy Office from distributions points on your network. " from: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/apps/apps-add-office365 Although Intune makes more sense to me.

Philinger is correct. I would say Intune as "The latest version must always be installed" once deployed Intune will keep it up to date. If using any other methods it won't keep the product up to date without extra admin.

Selected Answer: A
Intune will always keep Office 365 apps up to date, as the 365 apps are installed directly from Intune itself therefore will always update.

Saw this in a practice exam but worded differently: Instead of "The solution must minimize administrative effort" it said "Your solution must also follow the principle of least amount of privilege. What is the best command-line tool to use for the deployment?" The answer options were the same. The answer to this question was: Office Deployment Toolkit (ODT) So I'm guessing this question is wrong, hence the confusion.

I picked ODT since, I, too, remember this question from somewhere else, specially Microsoft. The answer was ODT.

It's a choice between CM and Intune. If only they said, minimise internet traffic like in previous questions. I would go with CM. MDT is used for OSD, the org prefers traditional methods.

Intune --> Create device group --> Select o365 app --> deploy to group ODT --> Download files -> create XML --> how to trigger install (manual install/MDT Task seq/powershell script/logon script etc) SCCM --> create new package via ODT or via wizard --> select DPs to distribute -->deploy to collection MDT --> requires ODT to have latest version, but is fastest with install as O365 is installed during TS, so at the end I would use this in production, but is not wat MS asks. In that regards I would say Intune is from total clicks the least, but its a bit ambiguous question.

I would go for Intune as well. You can create a deployment via Intune to deploy O365. Even with additional settings. Or just upload an xml to Intune. (this is required to create for ODT/SCCM etc as well) so it nog extra work. Intune will than automatically deploy the latest version to the group of devices you set.

In the question it states the machines are in co-management, which indicates the presence of ConfigMgr and Intune otherwise machines cannot be co-managed. In configMgr there is a co-management workload you can move to Intune specifically for Office 365 management. Office deployment and management from intune is by far the most simple way to deploy the Office apps (MS 365 Apps for business) I would lean towards Intune for this one. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/configmgr/comanage/workloads#office-click-to-run-apps https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/apps/apps-add-office365#select-microsoft-365-apps

Since they're still using MDT and it wants the latest version you can use ODT with /configure to install O365 directly from the Microsoft website.

In that link it states: "Note that the Office Deployment Tool (ODT) is used to install Microsoft 365 Apps in all these options" The question asks which is the best TOOL. So C I think.
