Its true that only one DPT is allowed per mailbox. However the answer is NO, because its asking to reduce the size of primary mailbox which is not possible unless you have archive mailbox enabled.

3 DPTs are are allowed . One DPT with the Move to Archive action One DPT with the Delete and Allow Recovery or Permanently Delete actions One DPT for voice mail messages with the Delete and Allow Recovery or Permanently Delete action. Assume that 1 Move to Archive tag will fail in case Archive mailbox is not available. The other default tag for delete would be sufficient to free up space in mailbox. Hence 2 DPTs can be an answer too.

Just read that Default tag for delete action Emulates the behavior when the user empties the Deleted Items folder...Hence it would not work for other folder Junk items and Sent Item.. Hence i stick with the answer NO. Apologies i am contradicting my comments...Part of the learning process :)

Only one default policy tag is ok as it affects the whole mailbox (all folders).

FYI. Only one default retention tag is allowed in a retention policy.

No, that's incorrect. You can have up to three DPTs (each with a different action) per policy. The answer 'No' probably still stands as an archive mailbox is not mentioned. If it is implicitly assumed, then the solution with two DPTs should be possible: one DPT to archive and the other to delete content. So the answer 'A' is a possibility.

When planning to create retention policies, you must consider whether they'll include both archive and deletion tags. As mentioned earlier, a retention policy can have one DPT that uses the Move to Archive action and one DPT that uses either the Delete and Allow Recovery or Permanently Delete action. The DPT with the Move to Archive action must have a lower retention age than the DPT with a deletion action. For example, you can use a DPT with the Move to Archive action to move items to the archive mailbox in two years, and a DPT with a deletion action to remove items from the mailbox in seven years. Items in both primary and archive mailboxes will be deleted after seven years.
