Start the order, since when you're firmed, it's released. So the correct answer is D

Selected Answer: D
I say Started https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/supply-chain/master-planning/planning-optimization/planned-order-firming as 1st sentences here say, firmed orders are known as Released orders, hence the next step surely must be Start; if released order doesn't mean the same as status Released in life of Production order then you should not be using mixed terminology

In my opinion the firmed production order comes with de status 'scheduled' en has the status/steps 'create' and 'estimate' within.. So the first step you have to do is release the order (but this is not listed.)

I would also say that B is correct. Because after you firm an order from master planning it gets the status scheduled in the production control. And if you take a look at the lifecycle the first thing to do is to estimate...you can jump statuses but still that would be the first step.

D should be correct. Start as firm means released. Planned orders must be firmed (that is, released) as part of the master planning process. When planned orders are firmed, they become actual purchase orders, transfer orders, or production orders. These orders are also known as released orders or open orders. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/supply-chain/master-planning/planning-optimization/planned-order-firming

If the order has been created, then the next step is Estimation based from the lifecycle. So, I guess the answer is correct. Creating a production order. Estimation. The cost price is calculated. Scheduling. The start and end date and time is scheduled. Release the production order. ... Start the production order. ... Report as finished. ... End the production order.

According to documentation, Estimation is next step in Production order lifecycle. I agree that the answer is correct - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/supply-chain/production-control/tasks/estimate-production-order

Requested production status Specify the production status you want to use for automatic firming of planned production orders. The options are as follows: Scheduled Released Started When planned orders are firmed, productions with the selected status are created automatically. So I assume they expect the answer A - RAF, as we don't know the status of firmed order. It can be already Started. And olso it depends on the meaning of the word "process".
