Exam MS-700 topic 3 question 94 discussion

Actual exam question from Microsoft's MS-700
Question #: 94
Topic #: 3
[All MS-700 Questions]

Your company is releasing a Request for Proposal (RFP) and is collaborating with four vendors. Each vendor must communicate with the company, but the vendors must NOT be able to communicate with each other in channel posts.

The company must communicate internally about vendor specifics without the vendors having access to these communications.

You need to create teams and channels in Microsoft Teams to support the communication requirements. The solution must minimize the number of teams.

What should you do?

  • A. Create one team that has one private channel per vendor. Use the General channel for internal communications.
  • B. Create two teams per vendor. Use one team per vendor for internal communications.
  • C. Create one team per vendor. Use a private channel for internal communications.
  • D. Create one team that has two private channels per vendor. Use one of the private channels per vendor for internal communications.

Selected Answer: C
Correct is C. Both A and D are wrong, because if there is only one team for all vendors, all vendors will necessarily have access to the Generel channel and can communicate to each other in the General channel, which is not what we want. B is too many teams, which also is not what we want to achieve.

The solution must minimize the number of teams. A. Create one team that has one private channel per vendor. Use the General channel for internal communications. Here’s why: Creating one team with a private channel for each vendor ensures that vendors cannot communicate with each other in channel posts, as private channels are only accessible to the members added to them. Using the General channel for internal communications allows the company to discuss vendor specifics without the vendors having access to these communications, as vendors would not be members of the General channel. This solution also minimizes the number of teams, as only one team is created.

to be added to private channels you must be a member of the team... which give users access to general channel... vendors could then communicate with each other which is not allowed.... This is prob a job for shared channels but no option here.

I would go for choice D. Smallest amount of teams to create. A. Create one team that has one private channel per vendor. Use the General channel for internal communications. -> Vendors are accessible to the General channel. This should not be the answer. B. Create two teams per vendor. Use one team per vendor for internal communications. -> 8 teams to be created. Too many. C. Create one team per vendor. Use a private channel for internal communications. -> 4 teams to be created though keep the private channels off of the vendors. D. Create one team that has two private channels per vendor. Use one of the private channels per vendor for internal communications. -> 1 team with 8 channels. Can keep all the private channels off from the vendors.

D. Create one team that has two private channels per vendor. Use one of the private channels per vendor for internal communications. -> 1 team with 8 channels. Can keep all the 4 private channels off from the vendors. The other 4 channels are supposed to be for communication with each vendor.

D is wrong. You forgot the default General channel, which is necessarily a part of the created team and is accessible for all vendors in the team, thus allowing them to communicate to each other („but the vendors must NOT be able to communicate with each other in channel posts“)

Shouldn't C be the correct answer? If A was the correct answer, wouldn't all vendors be able to see the general chat?
