You have a Microsoft 365 subscription that contains 1,000 iOS devices. The devices are enrolled in Microsoft Intune as follows:
• Two hundred devices are enrolled by using the Intune Company Portal.
• Eight hundred devices are enrolled by using Apple Automated Device Enrollment (ADE).

You create an iOS/iPadOS software updates policy named Policy1 that is configured to install iOS/iPadOS 15.5.

How many iOS devices will Policy1 update, and what should you configure to ensure that only iOS/iPadOS 15.5 is installed? To answer, select the appropriate options in the answer area.

NOTE: Each correct selection is worth one point.

1. 800, You can use Microsoft Intune device configuration profiles to manage software updates for iOS/iPad devices that are enrolled as supervised devices. A supervised device is a device that enrolls through one of Apple's Automated Device Enrollment (ADE) options. 2. Device Restriction Policy. When you create a iOS Update Policy and choose an earlier version or specify a version, you see this message in Intune "Since you selected an earlier version, make sure you apply a device restriction policy that defers the visibility of software updates so that devices can't update to the latest version."

The Microsoft Intune software updates policy named Policy1 will be able to update all 1,000 iOS devices. This is because both the devices enrolled via the Intune Company Portal1 and those enrolled via Apple Automated Device Enrollment (ADE) are manageable by Intune

1000 devices and a device restriction policy Policy1 is a software updates policy configured to install iOS/iPadOS 15.5. Since it's not explicitly mentioned whether the policy is targeted specifically to devices enrolled via the Intune Company Portal or through Apple Automated Device Enrollment (ADE), we should assume it's targeted to all enrolled iOS devices. Given that there are a total of 1,000 iOS devices enrolled in Microsoft Intune, it's logical to conclude that Policy1 will update all 1,000 iOS devices, regardless of the enrollment method (Company Portal or ADE).

Why are so many of these answer wrong? It's very confusing. Apple Automated Device Enrollment (ADE) DOES NOT deploy a specific version of OS. It simply provisions the device with the default profile delivered by Apple. Intune compliance policies and deployment profiles and device restriction policies are used to configure IOS version.

Provided answers are correct. Update settings are for Supervised devices.

Device Restriction is correct for the second one, there you can defer newer updates but only up to 30 days

I am going with Compliance policy. I wasn't able to find a device restriction policy that would work. Better yet I don't see that I can add the policy I tested with to the policy set.

It's 800, and it should be a compliance policy. There you can specify the minimum OS version.

Answers seems legit, source: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/protect/software-updates-ios I know it says "You can use Microsoft Intune device configuration profiles to manage software updates for iOS/iPad devices" in the first line, but further down it also states: "You can configure settings in a device restrictions profile to hide an update from device users for a period of time on your supervised iOS/iPadOS devices."

Answer: 800 devices for question 1. Question 2 should be compliance policy, becuase Device restriction is enforcing update policies only for Supervised devices
