All editions of SQL Server support server level audits. All editions support database level audits beginning with SQL Server 2016 SP1. Prior to that, database level auditing was limited to Enterprise, Developer, and Evaluation editions.

Edition is not related DB Level Audit. Answer is No.

Mean question. Of course is the goal met afterwards. But it also was before the migration.

Well it was not met before or after, since they omitted SP1. So yes if the SP1 was out at the point of the scenario, they could have applied it afterwards, but that is not the question.

ALL editions of SQL Server support SERVER level audits. You need SQL Server 2016 SP1 or later for DATABASE level audits.
