NNN GPT: in Azure, storage account names must be globally unique within Azure. This means that across all Azure subscriptions, no two storage accounts can have the same name. Each storage account name forms part of a unique URL, and this uniqueness requirement is enforced to ensure that the URL for each storage account is unique and can be resolved without ambiguity.

Why? If its giving you the information you need why do you have a problem with it? If the community respects the answer then I have no problem with it. The fact someone went out to research it and posted it should means they are eager to learn and not just remember the answer. If you don't like Chatgpt then you have a long way to go in learning as its pretty much the future for now.

ChatGPT is actually right in this case: Storage account names actually need to be globally unique in all of Azure as per this article: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-resource-manager/troubleshooting/error-storage-account-name?tabs=bicep “If you try to deploy a new storage account with the same name as a storage account that already exists in Azure. The existing storage account name might be in your subscription or tenant, or anywhere across Azure. Storage account names must be globally unique across Azure.”

Storage account names can't be duplicated in Azure anywhere for the same company GPT: in Azure, storage account names must be globally unique within Azure.
