Box and whiskey plot is best used to show five number summary about a data. It gives the minimum, Q1, median, Q3, and the maximum observation. It's also best in spotting outliers (extreme values that can greatly impact the distribution of your dataset).

I agree with OlaCharles. Line and Pie charts have no options for adding a mean. Clever tricks with a Histogram may get you the quartiles. A Box-and-Wisker chart is designed to display all these things without DAX or obscure property settings.
