I tested this on a DNS server and even though "Diasble Recursion" is enabled the Recursive Test in the monitor tab actually shows Pass therefore no, yes, no

sorry its really no no no. i tested this aswell. Yes it will pass if you run the test and then disable recursion, because its in the dns cache. Hoewever if you right click on your dns server and select clear cache the monitoring fail of recursion.

The answer is Yes, No,No. The forwarder is unavailable, but root servers are. By default, if no forwarders are available, the root-hints are used to solve internet names.
