I think the solution is: 1) Set the DataItemTableView sorting property 2) Specify the RequestFilterFields property

First option does not seem OK. Use instead DataItemtableView. DataItemTableView Property Remarks If you set a key, then the data item does not have a FastTab on the request page and the end users cannot select a key for sorting, sort order, or filters for the data item.

i think it should be: 1. Set DataIltemLink property 2. Specify the RequestFilterFields property

setting "DataItemTableView" property gets rid of request page filter section for this data item

meaning to say that your choice of 1. Set DataIltemLink property is not correct ... should be set DataItemTableView
