Options D and B were retired December 2024, the new Azure resource is: Database Watcher . If you have this Question with these same options: option D

Azure SQL Analytics can't monitor SQL Server on Azure VM - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/azure/azure-monitor/insights/azure-sql Because of this, pick D - SQL Insights. So question might be outdated.

You can customize telemetry collection and frequency, and also combine data from multiple sources into a single monitoring experience for your entire SQL estate. SQL insights is enterprise-ready and easily scales to meet your resource requirements. This feature is available in preview for SQL Database, SQL Managed Instance and SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines. But not for long "SQL Insights (preview) will be retired on 31 December 2024"

yes you are right, VMs are not supported by SQL Analytics
