Topic #: 5
[All MB-330 Questions]

A company with two legal entities uses Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management. You are creating new products and learn that CompanyA plans to use Warehouse management (WMS) but CompanyB will not.

Each storage, tracking, and production dimension name and configuration must be identical in each company.

You need to set up the dimensions that affect the WMS for the new products.

Which two actions should you perform? Each correct answer presents a complete solution.

NOTE: Each correct selection is worth one point.

  • A. Assign a tracking group to the product and release it to both companies, changing one tracking group after release.
  • B. Leave storage group blank on the product and assign after release to both companies.
  • C. Assign storage group to the product and release to both companies, changing one after release.
  • D. Create a product master and assign configuration technology.

it is technically possible to create a product master without assigning a storage dimension group at the global (shared) level, leaving it blank initially and assign it while releasing ito legal entity.

if production dimension group can be interpreted as "product" dimension group, D as an answer makes sense, B would also be the best way to be sure to assign the right group, and not forget it to change after the release thanks copilot (it seems to use the same MS language :) )

C, D. Create a Product Master (D): Define the product master with a configuration technology (e.g., for variants) and assign tracking and storage dimension groups centrally to ensure identical names and configurations. Assign Storage Group (C): Set a storage dimension group on the product master that supports WMS (e.g., includes location) and release it to both CompanyA and CompanyB. Post-Release Adjustment (C): After release: For CompanyA, retain or refine the WMS-enabled storage dimension group. For CompanyB, modify the storage dimension group settings (e.g., disable location) to suit non-WMS operations, keeping the group name the same.
