A. sensitive info types: These are predefined patterns that identify sensitive information, such as credit card numbers, social security numbers, or other personally identifiable information (PII)
Sensitivity labels are typically used to classify and protect content based on its sensitivity, but they are not directly used as conditions in DLP rules.
Sensitivity labels are persistent and stored in file and email message metadata, meaning the label
will be stored with the content. You can apply a single sensitivity label to a file or email message.
Files and email messages can have both sensitivity and retention labels applied concurrently.
Sensitive Information Types (SIT) are classifiers that identify sensitive information based on
the pattern of the information. For example, credit card numbers, passport numbers, and tax
identification numbers all have a specific format that can be detected by automated classifiers
that recognize the type of information by its format. Microsoft Purview has many built-in SITs
to identify common sensitive information types. Creating your own SIT or training one using
artificial intelligence is also possible.
A. sensitive info types
