You have a Microsoft 365 subscription that includes Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Defender for Endpoint.

Users have devices that run Windows 11.

You deploy a connection from Defender for Endpoint to Intune.

You need to ensure that when a device is enrolled in Intune, the device is onboarded automatically to Defender for Endpoint.

What should you configure, and which portal should you use? To answer, select the appropriate options in the answer area.

NOTE: Each correct selection is worth one point.

Correct, nboarding package for Microsoft Defender is another method to onboard devices to Defender for Endpoint. However, this method is typically used for manual onboarding or when you need to onboard devices that are not managed by Intune.

Configuring EDR Profile is incorrect because it has to be a EDR Policy configured not profile.

EDR Intune Another confusing question as the onboarding configuration package IS required, however this is automatically created by Intune, but to actually deploy it you need to configure an EDR policy. Microsoft Learn - "With a connection between Intune and Defender established, Intune automatically receives an onboarding configuration package from Defender that can be used by Intune to onboard Windows devices. This package is used by Intune EDR policy to configure devices to communicate with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint services and to scan files and detect threats."

You need to create an onboarding package: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/defender-endpoint/onboarding Use Intune to automatically deploy it.

Wrong. When you connect Microsoft Defender for Endpoint with Intune, the onboarding method for supported Windows versions (like Windows 11) is fully managed via Intune without requiring a separate onboarding package. Microsoft even says this explicitly: "If you're using Microsoft Intune, you do not need to download the onboarding package. You can use the built-in EDR policy to onboard devices automatically."

Answer IMO is; *Configure: An endpoint detection and response (EDR) profile - you can create this profile and assign it to the group of devices under assignment *This is configured in MS Intune If you create onboarding package then this will be configured in MS Defender portal which is a manual task and the scenario is asking for an automatic solution.
