You need to recommend an NLB configuration that meets the availability requirements and the security requirements. Which load balancing solution should you recommend?
A.
Layer 7 load balancing with session affinity
B.
Layer 4 load balancing without session affinity
C.
Layer 4 load balancing with session affinity
D.
Layer 7 load balancing without session affinity
Basically & referring to preferred architecture it should be D : Layer 7 without session affinity.
But referring to this sentence inside security requirements it think it can be answer A : Layer 7 WITH session affinity.
"Whenever possible, client computers must be directed to the same Exchange server for log collection."
The only way I know to "redirect" a client computer to the same Exchange Server for log collection (thinking about IIS logs) is to deploy session affinity (for example Client IP) to ensure that the same client IP / computer always go to the same "CAS" during the day (except if the server goes down of course).
I agree with you but, ..."The HTTP protocol standard introduced with Exchange 2013 means that session affinity is no longer required in Exchange 2016 and Exchange 2019."
