You have an Azure subscription named Subscription1. You deploy a Linux virtual machine named VM1 to Subscription1. You need to monitor the metrics and the logs of VM1. What should you use?
Suggested Answer:A🗳️
You can use extensions to configure diagnostics on your VMs to collect additional metric data. The basic host metrics are available, but to see more granular and VM-specific metrics, you need to install the Azure diagnostics extension on the VM. The Azure diagnostics extension allows additional monitoring and diagnostics data to be retrieved from the VM. Correct.

Why A is wrong:
Performance Diagnostics Prerequisites: This extension can be installed on Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2012 R2, and Windows Server 2016. It can also be installed on Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.

I believe some are confusing Linux PerfInsights with Performance Diagnostics because it is in the same section in the documentation as the Windows version, but as referenced above, the product specifically named Performance Diagnostics Extension is only for Windows.
default answer A is correct as just to highlight that it apply to windows and linux
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-machines/troubleshooting/performance-diagnostics
answer is C
Use Linux diagnostic extension 3.0 to monitor metrics and logs
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-machines/extensions/diagnostics-linux-v3
Answer C for me
AzurePerformance Diagnosctics is only for Windows OS. Check this links, this meet the requested "monitor the metrics and the logs"
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-machines/extensions/diagnostics-linux
Performance diagnostics is used for troubleshooting only, it collects and monitors performance just for some time, the questions asks for continuos monitoring. so answer is C
It seems both A & C are correct. Azure Performance Diagnosis extension and Linux Diagnosis Extension both can be used for monitor metrics and logs. Can anyone explain why the answer C is not correct here?
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-machines/troubleshooting/performance-diagnostics | Given answer is correct.
You can use the Download report button to download an HTML report that contains additional rich diagnostics information, such as storage and network configuration, performance counters, traces, list of processes, and logs
Such confusing question. LAD *IS* a Azure diagnostic extension.
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-monitor/platform/diagnostics-extension-overview
A and C are both "correct"
The provided "tutorial monitoring" proof/refence link doesn't support A.
You can use Linux Diagnostic Extension to monitor metrics and logs:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-machines/extensions/diagnostics-linux
However you can also use Performance diagnostics to collect logs and metrics (CPU, disk space, or memory) and it suports Linux as well:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-machines/troubleshooting/performance-diagnostics
So for me options A and C, both are correct.
