Litware wants to pilot Phone System as a calling solution for 20 IT department users - so get a calling plan for each user - instead of whole Litware..

That is because the calling plans are assigned on a user by user basis. So for example you would assign a E5 license with the added calling plan add-on per user/ per month

This is incorrect, here is why: The add-on license is named "Phone system" (This IS the license, NOT the Calling plan) https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/calling-plans-for-office-365#how-to-buy-a-calling-plan 1 - you always need the license and phone number first :-) "You must first purchase a **Phone System add-on license. To do that, sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin center and choose **Billing > Purchase services > Add-on subscriptions > Buy now." 2 - select a calling plan "After you buy Phone System licenses, you can buy the Calling Plan by signing in to the Microsoft 365 admin center, choose Billing > Purchase services > Add-on subscriptions, and then clicking Buy now. You'll see the Calling Plans there." https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/calling-plans-for-office-365#how-to-buy-a-calling-plan Ans. is A and E

It's C and E: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/calling-plans-for-office-365#how-to-buy-calling-plans 1. You must first purchase a Phone System add-on license 2. After you buy Phone System licenses, you can buy a Calling Plan Then you can request and assign a number.

Here are the requirements: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/setting-up-your-phone-system The "additional license" in this scenario refers to the "Calling Plan" that is required as part of the "Phone system". Correct answer is : A, C

A and C Litware has Office 365 Enterprise E3 licenses. E3 does not include voice features such as phone system. You need to purchase those separately then assign them to users. Calling plan is for If you want users to be able to call phone numbers outside your organization. It was not a requirement. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/teams-add-on-licensing/microsoft-teams-add-on-licensing?tabs=small-business https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/here-s-what-you-get-with-phone-system

Correct, A and C, you do not need the calling plan (E) if you pilot internally

Are we seriously assuming that they are piloting internally? If that was MS' intent they should say so.

"All the E3 products and services are enabled for each user" not sure if this means we already have licenses purchased or not. If not, then we have no licenses to assign in the first place... Ans A would be out. Ans. could be C and E

Calls to other Skype for Business and Microsoft Teams users are free, but if you want your users to be able to call regular phones, and you don't already have a service provider to make voice calls, you need to buy a Calling Plan. For more information, see Phone System and Calling Plans. Here are the Calling Plans options: Domestic Calling Plan: Licensed users can call out to numbers located in the country/region where they are assigned in Microsoft 365 or Office 365. Domestic and International Calling Plan: Licensed users can call out to numbers located in the country/region where their Microsoft 365 or Office 365 license is assigned to the user based on the user's location, and to international numbers in 196 countries/regions.

according to https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/calling-plans-for-office-365 the process should be (C) Purchase a Phone System for each user, (E) Purchase a Calling Plan for Litware (A) Assign an additional license and phone number to each user.

Bad wording on the question: "You need to identify the requirements for the voice pilot project" The requirements are listed in the Case Study, so they are pretty easy to identify. Based on the answers shown, a better phrasing would be "You need to meet the requirements for the voice pilot project.

badly worded question really With enterprise licencing you would buy a calling plan and choose 20 user capacity - you dont buy a calling plan FOR the user though, you buy the qty you need for the enterprise and then assign those licences . So the answer SHOULD buy calling plan for litware because that is the entity that the licences are assigned to (you just chose 20 as the quantity) and then you assign those licences to each required user. In could reassign them to different users if you wanted later which if they were bought/tied to for each user , that wouldn't be the case. But , as is the case so often, it is open to interpretation and actually impossible to know for sure what they have in mind so we might get it wrong even if we fully understand how to answer!

because you are piloting only for 20 users. Which require additional license cost.
