The first question is a "NO" IMO. There no statement in the problem that Paris-VNET is designated as a Resolution virtual network nor linked to the private zone.

Yup - I just drew it out in paint and was scratching my head as to how that could work. Also the Azure AD domain is humongousinsurance.com not humongousinsurance.local. Going 'No', 'Yes', 'No' as the answers

Agree with ExamPrep. Correct Answers: NO, computers in paris are joined to AD which houses DNS zone humogoinsurance.com, where the private dns is humongoinsurance.local. YES, This is the registration network so it will work NO, Not connected to Client Resources Network thus not able to register its hostname with humongoinsurance.local

I could be wrong, but I believe the answers are correct due to the fact that subnet 1 is Peered to AllOffices-Vnet they then use the default Azure DC to be able to resolve the hosts

Practically design is wrong hence A is no. Always Computers logins to local DNS as they are nearest DNS . Local DNS . Hence there must be a link established between local DNS and public DNS .

It should be No, Yes, No. 1. Answer is NO. Explanation: humongousinsurance.local is a 'Private DNS zone' and the registration network is set to the ClientResources-VNet. Thus Subnet1 has no information about this DNS and hence can not resolve servers in the Private Zone 2. Answer is YES. Explanation: Pretty much straight forward. Private DNS zone's registration link is set to ClientResources-VNet 3. Answer is NO. Explanation: Subnet4 is part of AllOffices-VNet, which is not linked to Private-DNS 'humongousinsurance.local'.

Correction, I now agree with given answer based on this snippet from the linked article: Forward DNS resolution is supported across virtual networks that are linked to the private zone. For cross-virtual network DNS resolution, there's no explicit dependency such that the virtual networks are peered with each other. However, you might want to peer virtual networks for other scenarios (for example, HTTP traffic).

So, its still no. You can't resolve the names of of the host of that Private zone because this subnet was linked ...had it been..the answer would have been yes

Strike that. If read correctly it only works with linked VNet: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/dns/private-dns-overview "Automatic registration of virtual machines from a virtual network that's linked to a private zone with autoregistration enabled. " "Forward DNS resolution is supported across virtual networks that are linked to the private zone."
