My other response was slightly incorrect. You need NTDSUTIL to mount the AD snapshot. Then you can use dsamain to specify the mounted snapshot. For the dbpath parameter, you must specify a mounted snapshot or a backup that you want to view along with the complete path to the Ntds.dit file, for example: /dbpath E:\$SNAP_200704181137_VOLUMED$\WINDOWS\NTDS\ntds.dit https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/windows/it-pro/windows-server-2012-R2-and-2012/cc772168(v=ws.11)

i agree, ntdsutil it is. dsmain will be the answer if it has " as a LDAP server ".

This is wrong. You must use NTDSUTIL FIRST to mount the snapshot THEN use dsamain to restore the objects from that snapshot.
