Given answer is correct = Yes, No, Yes. Don't confuse Version with Generation. Generation cannot be upgraded, and Gen2 is required for encryption. https://www.nakivo.com/blog/hyper-v-generation-1-vs-2/

Yes, No, Yes Encryption-supported refers to HGS, not just encryption. HGS requires Gen 2 https://statemigration.com/windows-server-2016-delivering-secure-iaas-guarded-fabric/

YES YES YES Pay attention to VM2, and the question has not mention to use TPM protector. You can configure this VM as Encryption Supported by using a Key Storage Drive

I believe the stated answer is correct as you need to upgrade VM2 to Gen2 to enable encryption. The command run is for the configuration version only. Yes, No Yes.

True and the generation cant be upgraded as you need to re-create the VM
