Auto attendant has time of day check. Call queues don’t. So 1 AA routes option press to 2call queues.

Minimum number of AA would be 1 and CQ 2, the AA can be configured with prompts that have the callers use DTMF to select different destinations. External callers dial the AA DID, the menu navigation provides options to press 1 for sales or press 2 for marketing.

I can't read the reason for using the call queue. Can you meet the requirements with a shared line?

t is 2 Queues and 1 AA. I was thinking possibly 2 AAs but you can have the single after hours message to represent the whole company so that requires only 1 AA

Sales department Main number 123. Marketing Department main number 345 User use above number to reach out specific Team. Question ask to route call based on schedule. How call queue work in this scenario when there is no option to set schedule in call queue. I think answer will be 2 AA and 0 Call queue

When you select an option from a AA it has to ring a number, if you don't have a call queue in place it would have to ring a single user, the question asks for you to ring ALL users at the same time. 1 AA and 2 Call Queues.

This scenario requires 2 queues and 1 auto-attendant. See the reason why: 1. The first three options listed is handled by one queue, containing an auto attendant to route the calls to the different sections, and handle time-of-day checks, which in this case is off-business hours (queues cannot do this.) 2. Another queue, the second one will handle 4th option here, since this would just route to both departments.

A key fact to note here is that call queues are designed to route to people or persons of particular specialty say, sales dept, or marketing dept.

One Auto Attendant can route calls to two different queue through Menu option. Business hrs and Non Business hours can be configured from Auto Attendant. for PSTN calls the Auto Attendant Resource account needs a Line URI. For custom Greetings we can configure it in respective Call queues. So, One Auto Attendant and Two Call Queue is enough. hope this helps. Kannan

I believe there should be two auto attendant, how would the AA know which calls comes for Sales and which one for Marketing. So I guess there should be two separate phone number associated to two AA.

You can configure more than one resource account and phone number in a single auto attendant: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/create-a-phone-system-auto-attendant

AA's are the systems that give you options, "Press 1 for Sales, Press 2 for Marketing" that's an AA.

Sales and Marketing need their own queue... but the question states:- ✑ Outside of business hours, ensure that calls from PSTN users receive a custom greeting. ✑ During business hours, ensure that calls from PSTN users can be received by the sales and marketing department users Hence only 1 Auto Attendant is required.

If I understood correctly, should be two auto-attendants - for sales and marketing separately: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/create-a-phone-system-call-queue

Sales and Marketing each need their own queue, so 2 queues... but the question states:- ✑ Outside of business hours, ensure that calls from PSTN users receive a custom greeting. ✑ During business hours, ensure that calls from PSTN users can be received by the sales and marketing department users - in other words both departments are receiving from single source, the PSTN, hence only 1 Auto Attendant is required.
