You have an Azure subscription that contains a virtual network named VNet1. VNet1 uses an IP address space of 10.0.0.0/16 and contains the subnets in the following table.

Subnet1 contains a virtual appliance named VM1 that operates as a router.
You create a routing table named RT1.
You need to route all inbound traffic from the VPN gateway to VNet1 through VM1.
How should you configure RT1? To answer, select the appropriate options in the answer area.

Given answer is correct. 1. address prefix- destination-> Vnet 1 (Address space of Vnet1) 2. Next Hop - VM1 ->Virtual Appliance (You can specify IP address of VM 1 when configuring next hop as virtual appliance) 3.Assignment - This route is to be followed by Gateway Subnet for the incoming traffic. You can associate routing table to the Subnet from Rout Table -> subnet ->Associate

Be aware of 'route all inbound traffic from the VPN gateway to VNet1 through VM1'. VM1 belongs to Subnet1 with private IP 10.0.1.0/24, so the first answer should be 10.0.1.0/24. The rest two answers are right.

1. 10.0.1.0/24: Address space of sbunet 1 as routing should be made through vm1. 2. Virtual Network: Next hop needs to be made for virtual network. 3. Gateway Subnet: Should be made through vnet gateway and that used gateway subnet only. Note: Next hop will be virtual network address 10.0.0.0/16

Box 1 correct answer should be 10.0.1.0/24 Because Address prefix means - The destination IP address range Box 2 -Virtual applicances box 3 -gateway subnet -- You need to route all inbound traffic from the VPN gateway to VNet1 through VM1.So its traffic from Gateway subnet only.

Yeah I think that's correct, when we create route table, the address prefix is of Destination. Here we want all Inbound traffic from Gateway to be routed via VM1 , which is in Subnet1..

But I again doubt that address prefix is the address space of a Vnet not subnet

A prefix of 10.0.1.0/24 would only apply the route to incoming traffic destined for that one subnet and not *all* traffic coming to that VNet. So that would not satisfy the requirements

Q1 - They asked for all the traffic VNet1 Q3 - They asked for all the inbound traffic to Vnet1. Inbound traffic is via the SubnetGW

Is correct because all coming to the Vnet ( hence the 10.0.0.0/16) needs to go to the Virtual Appliance. This route is applied to the GW Subnet.
