it should be A and B. in case of end to end TLS, trusted Azure services such as Azure App service web apps do not require whitelisting the backends in the application gateway. Agreed. Btw, C is just for securing accessing from web app to another Azure resources. D is not relevant for different subdomain.

bold statements without explanations don't help. The question asks for SSL. While most of the steps are detailed in the links from others. I don't see how A & B are useful to meet the SSL requirements. But a combination will help. So I think this needs more research. I don't have a conclusive answer either... like everyone else here.
