Which connectivity method should you identify?

  • B. an Azure site-to-site VPN that is route-based
  • C. an Azure site-to-site VPN that is policy-based
  • D. Global VNet peering

Answer should be B. Now even vpn supports upto 10GB. But when it comes to cheapest, it is VPN and not express route.

For all who need to know, why it is B and not C: Policy Based is only supported with SKU Basic which provides a bandwith of just up to 100Mb/s

https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/details/vpn-gateway/ shows the rate card for VPN connections with different bandwidth for our case, we can choose VpnGw4 $2.10/hour 5 Gbps Max 30 1-10: Included 11-30: $0.015/hour per tunnel Max 5000 1-128: Included 129-5000: $0.01/hour per connection hence the answer shall be B.

The right answer should be A. On https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/vpn-gateway/vpn-gateway-about-vpngateways is reported: On a single tunnel a maximum of 1 Gbps throughput can be achieved. Aggregate Throughput Benchmark in the above table is based on measurements of multiple tunnels aggregated through a single gateway. The Aggregate Throughput Benchmark is not a guaranteed throughput due to Internet traffic conditions and your application behaviors.

in the same link VPNGW4 of 5GB is available so answer is B since the requirement is the solution should be cost effective. ER is always expensive compared to site to site.

I would use this VpnGw4 of 5Gbs, since express router is expensive, it says that it wants a "less expensive method".

Express Router is very expensive, a solution that minimizes cost is required.
