but there are limitation: Dataset size limit - There's a 1-GB limit for each dataset in the Power BI service.

There is a 1 GB limit, per dataset, that is imported into Power BI. If you have chosen to keep the Excel experience, instead of importing the data, the limit is 250 MB for the dataset. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-admin-manage-your-data-storage-in-power-bi

I think this is the reason why XML is not a solution: For other file types, like XML Table (.xml) or text (.txt) files, you can use Get & Transform to query, transform, and load that data into an Excel or Power BI Desktop file first. You can then import the Excel or Power BI Desktop file into Power BI. In other words, can't be done from PBI service directly.

TSV = Tab-separated values CSV = Comma Separated Value Tab-separated values. A tab-separated values (TSV) file is a simple text format for storing data in a tabular structure, e.g., database table or spreadsheet data, and a way of exchanging information between databases. Each record in the table is one line of the text file. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-get-data-from-files https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Power-Query/TSV/td-p/620479

I have tried to load TSV and SML file. Both worked. But I fail to load JPG file. Moreover, the size limits is 1GB. So TSV and XML is the right answer.

B and D are correct answers. a) TSV is not supported via Power BI Service, and in question it clearly says "by using Power BI Service". b) XLSX 3 gb will not work for Pro licence, but it will work for Premium licence. In question there is no mention about licence type so this option will work for some customers, for some not. Partially correct. c) XML is not supported via Power BI Service, and in question it clearly says "by using Power BI Service". d) CSV, same as xlsx 3gb, it will work for Premium licence. Partially correct. e) JPG is not suported via Power BI Service. For XML Table (.xml) or text (.txt) files, you must load that data into an Excel or Power BI Desktop file first. You can then import the Excel or Power BI Desktop file into Power BI Service. There's a 1-GB limit for datasets stored in Shared capacities in the Power BI service. If you need larger datasets, you can use Power BI Premium. B and D will partially work, but these are the only ones that might work. Others will fail.

I don't think there's any correct answer here from here https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/service-get-data#files you will see 1. only excel/CSV/PBXI file are supported 2. not personal drive but organizational drive, also see here https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/collaborate-share/service-connect-to-files-in-app-workspace-onedrive-for-business, correct me if you find me wrong 3."For other file types, like XML Table (.xml) or text (.txt) files, you can use Get & Transform to query, transform, and load that data into an Excel or Power BI Desktop file first. You can then import the Excel or Power BI Desktop file into Power BI."' 4.regarding of size limitation, 1GByes, but you can have premium but still in general there's no right answer from the list

Data-1 need some work done, get TSV via Azure data lake. https://stackoverflow.com/questions/46893638/how-to-read-tsv-file-from-azure-data-lake-into-power-bi#:~:text=Power%20BI%20supports%20TSV%20files%20from%20ADLS.&text=Click%20on%20Binary%20and%20Power,to%20save%20changes%20in%20query. Data-2 excel file ok (done directly) Data-3 XML file ok (done directly) Data-4 csv file ok (done directly) Data-5 JPG need some works done, still need to be via Azure. Well, I tried to upload this "TSV"-file created by Excel directly through Power BI Service, not Desktop. The result is an error. Not supported! The reason is a tap-separated file ends up as .txt-file automatically. And uploading .txt-files into Power BI Service is not supported. And regarding to the question: There is no info about the licensing. So I'd go with Excel and CSV. The limitation of 1 GB is not important here because we could have Power BI Premium which allows uploading datasets up to 10gb.

A and C https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/service-get-data For other file types, like XML Table (.xml) or text (.txt) files, you can use Get & Transform to query, transform, and load that data into an Excel or Power BI Desktop file first. You can then import the Excel or Power BI Desktop file into Power BI. So, you can use the datasets in A and C. The others are simply too big or do not contain data to use them.

Spent way too long on this question, first of all this is in relation to Power BI service if you read the question, limit is 1GB so rules out, Data 2, Data 4. Next, what is a TSV vs CSV answer supplied further below (e.g. Twane/ JohnFan) and is in the limit size so perfect! Now we are left between Data 3 and Data 5, Data 3 we know we need to edit so we can't use as is in Power BI (Twane) and Data 5 we can use, obv be its own dataset as we drag in view e.g. URL, image more info here: https://www.sqlshack.com/working-with-images-in-power-bi-desktop-reports/

Comma-Separated Value (.csv) - Files are simple text files with rows of data. Each row may contain one or more values, each separated by a comma. For example, a .csv containing name and address data might have many rows. Each row may have values for first name, last name, street address, city, state, and so on. You can't import data into a .csv file, but many applications, like Excel, can save simple table data as a .csv file. Excel (.xlsx, .xlsm) - In Excel, a workbook may include different data types. For example, it can include data you've entered into worksheets yourself. It can also include data that you've queried and loaded from external data sources by using Power Query. Power Query is available through Get & Transform in Excel 2016 or Power Pivot. You may import data from tables in worksheets, or import data from a data model. To learn more, see Get data from files for Power BI. B AND D

B ad D 1. Permitted file type = Excel (.xlsx, .xlsm), Powerbi (.pbix), Comma-Separated Value (.csv) only Source: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/service-get-data#create-new-content Also they mentioned no .xml or .txt file could be used, to use this file need to work from power bi desktop first. ----- B - .xlsx D - .csv All other options are not supported format Note: size might be problem but not mentioned either pro or premium
