I think two important details for the second part of the question are that (a) Volume D is the drive being encrypted and (b) that you don't necessarily need a vTPM to enable BitLocker on a guest OS, thereby allowing version 5.0 VMs, Gen 1 VMs, and guests running Windows Server 2012 R2 and older to have BitLocker enabled.

That said, you DO need a Gen 2, 8.0 VM in order to have vTPM which is what is required for the first part of the question.
