I agree with you should be A, Modify the members of the app workspace. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-manage-app-workspace-in-power-bi-and-office-365 https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Service/Workspace-Edit-versus-view-permission/td-p/185450

Even if you are a member, if the privacy setting in "Edit workspace" is Private and that "Member can only view Power BI content", then he or she still would not be able to edit the dashboard.

Way 1. Go to app workspace, click the “Access”, add a Member/Contributor. Way 2. “Update App” -> “Permission” -> specific individual or group -> “check” Allow all users to connect to the apps underlying datasets using the build permission. Way 3. Share a particular Dashboard/Report to someone -> under Tab “Share”, input email and note, “check” Allow all users to build new contents using underlying datasets. Way 4. Go to a particular Type of datasets, click the ellipsis, select “Manage permissions” and then edit the Build Permission (Add or Remove).

I go with A. A is the best option, even best by adding a word “Access”. B is wrong obviously, this question is relevant to Build Permission. C should modify the tab “Share” instead of tab “Access (it’s for manage the permission purpose)”. D Cilck “Update App”, and then configure the “Permission” instead of “Access (no such tab)” Link1: (Build Permission Microsoft) https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/service-datasets-build-permissions#ways-to-give-build-permission Link2: (Youtube) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3c7pMFloNeI

To remove or grant edit access in app content you need to follow this link:https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/service-datasets-build-permissions It should be D

C is correct. To work around the issue, you can share content pack with the user so that recipients can create their own report. But any change won't be reflected in original report. Reference: Create and publish a Power BI organizational content pack (tutorial) Organizational content packs: Copy, refresh, and get access

No doubts: it's A. You have to add a member in the workspace in order to let him create contents like dashboard or reports. D is incorrect because in that way you are not giving access to the app workspace but only to the app.

We don't know either app is published or not. But to add user to workspace we don't need update app. To give access to app we should but not for app workspace.

Am I the only 1 that thinks D is the right answer? The request is to "Provide a user named [email protected] with the ability to edit and publish dashboards" - In practice I would go to my APP Workspace that I have created in Power BI server > click Update app > go to Access Setting > type in [email protected] in the "enter email address" pane > identify them as a "contributor" > click add [https://radacad.com/best-practice-for-power-bi-workspace-roles-setup#:~:text=The%20Contributor%20role%20is%20the%20ideal%20role%20for%20Power%20BI,the%20content%20in%20the%20workspace]

I would say A because modifying the status of a member in the app workspace will enable him to edit or publish a dashboard or not. For answer B : - Sharing a dashboard does not enable the user to edit it [“When you share a dashboard or report, the people you share it with can view it and interact with it, but can't edit it.”] https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-share-dashboards - As for the “Access Setting” of the dashboard you can modify users’ capabilities to : o Read (Only) o Read and Share o Owner o Remove the access Indeed if you upgrade the specific user to owner, he will be able to edit the given dashboards but not the other dashboards (the question states “several dashboards”). As for the rest of the capabilities none allows the user to edit the dashboard. To enable a user to edit and publish several dashboards he needs to be a member of the given workspace where the dashboards are. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-manage-app-workspace-in-power-bi-and-office-365

You should read the blog from RADACAD.com more cerfully! The answer C is definitely incorrect. The blog states...With Dashboard sharing, you cannot specify edit access... Answer D is incorrect too. App users can't edit content in published App. They can view related reports and datasets, optional they can create reports and dashboards from datasets used in App and reshare content to other users. Answer B is incorrect too. Correct answer is A. You should add user1 to app workspace (with Workspace access) and add user1 "Member" permission. Why. Only Member (and Owner) can publish an app. Contributor cannot publish an app, it can only edit it. Contributor permission is appropriate for developers, for example. Remember, you must provide user with ability to edit and publish dashboards. I don't know exactly what they mean with "publish dashboard", but i suppose they mean publish dashboard with App publishing. Frankly speaking, this is the only possible correct answer.

I would choose A. C is wrong it solves access to that one dashboard but what about others. Therefore, A.
