SIMULATION - You need to configure a weekly backup of an Azure SQL database named Homepage. The backup must be retained for eight weeks. To complete this task, sign in to the Azure portal.
Suggested Answer:See the explanation below.
You need to configure the backup policy for the Azure SQL database. 1. In the Azure portal, type Azure SQL Database in the search box, select Azure SQL Database from the search results then select Homepage. Alternatively, browse to Azure SQL Database in the left navigation pane. 2. Select the server hosting the Homepage database and click on Manage backups. 3. Click on Configure policies. 4. Ensure that the Weekly Backups option is ticked. 5. Configure the How long would you like weekly backups to be retained option to 8 weeks. 6. Click Apply to save the changes.
Wrong. Azure portal doesn`t support backup management in the database`s blade. It`s available in the "SQL server" blade.
Go to Search -> "Homepage" -> Database overview -> Click on Server name -> Manage Backups -> Choose database "Homepage" -> Configure retention -> Long-term Retention Configurations set to 8 weeks.
The solution instructions seem correct. Step 2 states "Select the server hosting the Homepage database" as there is a link to the Server in the Overview blade of the SQL Database.
Sign in to the Azure portal.
In the left-hand menu, click on SQL databases.
In the SQL databases page, click on the database Homepage.
In the database page, click on Manage backups in the Operations section.
In the Manage Backups page, click on Configure policies.
In the Configure policies page, under the Retention Period section, set the value to 8 weeks.
Under the Backup Frequency section, select Weekly.
Click Apply to save the changes
DB backup is taken automatically.
Steps to change the weekly retention policy:
1- In Azure portal type SQL Server.
2- Select the server that you configured for your SQL Database.
3- From the server Data management section, choose Backups
4- You will get a list of the available databases.
5- Click on Retention policies tab.
6- Select the database and click on configure policy.
7- Under Weekly LTR Backups change the value from 0 to 8
Search bar, type Homepage (make sure it's an SQL server), click it > Data Management - Backups > Retention Policies and tick the retention policy in there so the Configure Policies will be available (previously grayed out) > click Configure policies > Long term retention, type 8 on weekly backups > Apply
Lexa is correct. "Manage Backup" navigation is under SQL server and not under Database.
