1st CIDR Notation = 128. /2 = 192. /3 = 224. /4 = 240. /5 = 248. /6 = 252. /7 = 254. /8 = 255. All of the numbers above are valid subnet mask numbers they repeat after /8 into the next octect so /9 is 255.128.0.0

this is the way its work. if you add four numbers start from left it will be 240. So answer is A. You wont get any other option above by adding these numbers. 128.64.32.16.8.4.2.1

binary, by adding a digit the number gets considerably bigger, since masks are all 1 until the 0s not all numbers are possible, the rest get skipped
