HOTSPOT -
Your network contains an Active Directory domain named contoso.com. The domain contains three servers named Server1, Server2, and Server3 that run
Windows Server 2016.
Server1 has IP Address Management (IPAM) installed. Server2 and Server3 have the DHCP Server role installed and have several DHCP scopes configured. The
IPAM server retrieves data from Server2 and Server3.
A domain user named User1 is a member of the groups shown in the following table.

On Server1, you create a security policy for User1. The policy grants the IPAM DHCP Scope Administrator Role with the \Global access scope to the user.
Which actions can User1 perform? To answer, select the appropriate options in the answer area.

This question it's driving me crazy. If we use IPAM, we the answer will be: On Both Server 2 and Server 3. On Both Server 2 and Server 3. Because from IPAM with role IPAM DHCP Scope Administrator with Global Access Scope, we can manage all DHCP. If we use Server Manager (No IPAM), the answer will be: On Server2 only On Server2 only. Because we only are DHCP Administrator on Server2. So, the correct answer tell me the question. The question say "From the Server Manager on Server1", so the correct answer is On Server2 Only On Server2 Only. If the question will say "From the IPAM node of Server Manager" the correct answer will be: On Both Server 2 and Server 3. On Both Server 2 and Server 3. If someone thinks differently, please reply.

Server1 has IP Address Management (IPAM) installed, then Server Manager includes Ipam console. So both Answers "On both server2 and Server3"

The solution needs to be entered. As the user1 has got the privilege through IPAM role based access control he is able to do both tasks on both servers regardless in which group he actually is.

I agree; 1) Server2 and Server3 2) Server2 and Server3

This is correct. As all changes are being made on Server1 where the user is Admin at the \Global level, if all changes are being made on Server1, User1 has full reign over DHCP on the other two servers.

IPAM is built into Server Manager, it does not have a separate console. So Server Manager = IPAM Node. DHCP uses a separate console.

I think the correct answer is : "On both server2 and Server3". Because from Server Manager you can only manage the IPAM. From tools like dhcp manager... is not through Server Manager ( it is used as middle step to access the dhcp manager).

User1 is using Server Manager, not IPAM to perform the administration. Therefore, only the "DHCP Administrators" permission on Server2 and the "DHCP Users" permissions on Server3 are applied. The permissions granted through membership of the "IPAM DHCP Scope Administrator Role" are not applied when the user is not using the IPAM console.

Giving User1 the \Global access scope for the DHCP Scope administrator role, basically gives the user God rights, so the user will be able to access all scopes and do whatever they want on both servers

Members of the DHCP Administrators group have administrave access to the Dynamic Host Configuraon Protocol (DHCP) Server service. This group provides a way to assign limited administrave access to the DHCP server only, while not providing full access to the server. Members of this group can administer DHCP on a server using the DHCP console or the Netsh command, but are not able to perform other administrave acons on the server. Members of the DHCP Users group have read-only access to the DHCP Server service. This allows members to view informaon and properes stored at a specified DHCP server. This informaon is useful to support staff when they need to obtain DHCP status reports. Both the DHCP Administrators group and DHCP Users group are created automacally when the DHCP server role is installed using Server Manager. . The "IPAM DHCP scope administrators" role grants permission to manage DHCP scopes within the given acces scope. The role includes the permissions create DHCP scope, edit DHCP scope and edit DHCP scope opons. So both Answers shold be "On both server2 and Server3"
