I tried it and found that if the column name is changed to the data category names (like in this case country) the column behaves that way. so changing the name of the column will point to countries instead of states without changing the data category.

You are right. I also tested and it worked. It is funny that nobody tried it before.

Answer B is correct. Change Data Category is not an option in the question. Tried B (rename to country) on the same sample and it worked.

Pretty strange task: B delivers the following results: e.g. "CA" = "United States" and "MA" = "Morocco" ----------------------- The map chart indicates that "CA" means "California" and "MA"="Massachusetts" so the "States or Province" Data Category -------------------- Why not simply G - Turn on the Category in Report Section/Visualisations Pane/Format/Category "On" and you display the States Abbrevations or the already mentioned (F): F - Click Geocode in Fields section/Column tools tab/ "Data Category" / "States or province" Nevertheless you need to follow G to display the "States" abbrevations

way 1: change "Data Category" under "Modeling", no such an option here. way 2: change the name of Field/Column Name to "Country", option "B" here. way 1 Link: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/transform-model/desktop-data-categorization

I think the Data Category will select automatically a country/region if you change the column name to Country.

does it mean that in the actual visual the GeoCodes are interpreted as States but they should be interpreted as the codes of countries? In this case the answer B works

Changing the Data Category also works, but that's not part of the answer options like already discussed above

I have tried this using the different options. The ideal solution would be just change the Data Category to Country/Region. But since that is not an answer option must look elsewhere. In the data view simply change the name of the column to country and the visualization changes, the data category also remains unchanged and set to Uncategorized.

You mean change Data Category to Country/Region? This is a correct action, but not an answer to select.

I have tried it too, and simply changing the column's Name gives us the right result.
