You create an Azure virtual machine named VM1 in a resource group named RG1. You discover that VM1 performs slower than expected. You need to capture a network trace on VM1. What should you do?
A.
From the VM1 blade, configure Connection troubleshoot.
B.
From Diagnostic settings for VM1, configure the performance counters to include network counters.
C.
From the VM1 blade, install performance diagnostics and run advanced performance analysis.
D.
From Diagnostic settings for VM1, configure the log level of the diagnostic agent.
Suggested Answer:C🗳️
The performance diagnostics tool helps you troubleshoot performance issues that can affect a Windows or Linux virtual machine (VM). Supported troubleshooting scenarios include quick checks on known issues and best practices, and complex problems that involve slow VM performance or high usage of CPU, disk space, or memory. Advanced performance analysis, included in the performance diagnostics tool, includes all checks in the performance analysis, and collects one or more of the traces, as listed in the following sections. Use this scenario to troubleshoot complex issues that require additional traces. Running this scenario for longer periods will increase the overall size of diagnostics output, depending on the size of the VM and the trace options that are selected. Its C. Azure Performance Diagnostics VM Extension helps collect performance diagnostic data from Windows VMs. The extension performs analysis, and provides a report of findings and recommendations to identify and resolve performance issues on the virtual machine. This extension installs a troubleshooting tool called PerfInsights.

C is correct, check this image you will see Network Trace option under Advance Performance Analysis

Answer is C

The performance diagnostics tool helps you troubleshoot performance issues that can affect a Windows or Linux virtual machine (VM). Supported troubleshooting scenarios include quick checks on known issues and best practices, and complex problems that involve slow VM performance or high usage of CPU, disk space, or memory. It Checks for known issues, analyzes best practices, and collects diagnostics data and captures a network trace and SMB counters.
C is correct, but just for the sake of being prepared for slightly different questions ... A, B and D are not nonsense and may be correct in other circumstances. They allow network monitoring on many levels (packets received, sent, errors etc.). Just not network tracing.
performance diagnostics is to detect performance issues related with high CPU usage, disk space or memory. The right answer should be B "Go to Monitoring Section > Diagnostic Settings > enable Performance counters."
C is correct , Performance Diagnostics VM Extension has also a network trace feature. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/azure/virtual-machines/performance-diagnostics-vm-extension
Ideally should be Packet Capture from Azure Network Watcher. The given link says network capture is only available for File Analysis and not VMs.
