For me It's A. https://docs.microsoft.com/fr-fr/power-bi/connect-data/service-publish-from-excel Local file publishing Excel supports publishing of local Excel files. They do not need to be saved to OneDrive for Business or SharePoint Online. Important You can only publish local files if you're using Excel 2016 (or later) with a Microsoft 365 subscription. Excel 2016 standalone installations can Publish to Power BI, but only when the workbook is saved to OneDrive for Business or SharePoint Online.

A is correct. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/service-publish-from-excel we have a Excel workbook with query+model+visual done & Stored in OneDrive, we just publish to BI.com and select "Export". Attention, here asking from Excel, not from power BI.com, if from power BI.com , just "upload" file and then select "onedrive", make sure direction clear.

I would say B - for reason Twaine mentioned - the steps given are correct for an Excel file - but this is an Excel file saved on Sharepoint - so it would make sense this is not the correct procedure, the solution starts "From Excel, click Publish" - but the question is telling us the file is save to Microsoft SharePoint Online - so that should be the logical starting point, not Excel.

Guys I am really confused and don't know what is the correct answer A or B? Yes Or No? Why not from sharepoint we open the excel workbook and publish to BI service by choosing export? what's wrong with that?

A is the correct answer. Aim is to have Power View sheets shown as Reports. That's done via Publish -> Export. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/service-publish-from-excel Export workbook data to Power BI When you choose the Export option, any supported data in tables and/or a data model are exported into a new dataset in Power BI. Any Power View sheets in the workbook are re-created in Power BI as reports.

I agree with RutRut. Correct answer is definitely A. Because the excel file is located at SharePoint, we don't need Excel with Office 365 subscription. All we need is Excel 2016 and later.

Correct answer is A. You can Publish > Export form Excel stored in OneDrive or SharePoint Online. Only Excel 2016 with an Office 365 subscription will see the experience to publish with local files. Excel 2016 standalone installation will still have the "Publish" only behavior which requires the excel workbook be saved to OneDrive for Business or SharePoint Online. https://docs.microsoft.com/bg-bg/power-bi/service-publish-from-excel You can do this same from Power BI service: Get Data > Files > Import

Yes: From Excel, click Publish to Power BI, and then click Export. (This is the solution when excel workbook is saved to OneDrive for Business). For SharePoint, you need to import from PowerBI service.

You are correct: "If your workbook file is on OneDrive or SharePoint - Team Sites, choose Import or Connect." https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/service-excel-workbook-files#import-or-connect-to-an-excel-workbook-from-power-bi
